Sometimes, finding your calling isn’t about chasing success—it’s about listening to the quiet nudges that point you toward something greater.
I came home from another frustrating day at work, fed up. A colleague had betrayed me, the company’s values clashed with mine, and I knew I could never create the culture I dreamed of unless I owned my own business. That night I wrote a business plan built on the values I wanted my future company to embody. The process was liberating, energizing, and even cathartic. I didn’t know it then, but that night sparked the magic to come.
Up to that point, my work life looked successful on paper but didn’t feel meaningful. At 22 I married, became a father at 24, and immediately found a sales job to support my family—selling industrial chemicals. Over the years, I climbed the ladder to executive, building client relationships, training salespeople, and creating marketing strategies. But the politics and misaligned values wore me down, and I wanted more time with my family. When a client recruited me to be VP of Sales and Marketing at his company, I switched, hoping that was the solution.
Years passed, and I became an industry expert. I’ve always believed business thrives when people come before profit. I built genuine relationships, sought solutions, and mentored recruits. But eventually, I realized I no longer fit in the corporate world.
Ownership wanted a curated “corporate” version of me—boxed, polished, and inauthentic. Worse, I saw people compromise basic values for profit. The lies, betrayals, and heartlessness clashed with everything I believed as a Christian and as a person of integrity. I wanted to love and serve people, not exploit them.
I knew I had to start a business where I could hire aligned people and build a company rooted in my values—where people would always come before profit. At first, I thought about opening a restaurant. When I shared the idea with a REALTOR® friend, he surprised me by suggesting real estate: “You’d be great at it!”
I wasn’t convinced, so I prayed: “God, make my path clear.” Within a week, He gave me three undeniable signs—a contractor at my house mentioned real estate, in the hospital I was led to pray with a REALTOR®, and I met a woman navigating the same career-change decision. After the third sign, with chills, I knew real estate was the path God had chosen.
I earned my license in 2018, and life changed. I no longer dreaded Mondays or stressed on Sunday nights. I love what I do, and I finally have time for what matters most—being with my children, Spencer, Capper, Parker, Madeliene, and Mason, and cherishing every moment with my two grandbabies.
Today, I lead Bible studies, support missionary teams, golf, fish, and enjoy anything involving the ocean. Most of all, I live and breathe real estate. I feel blessed to help people sell one of their most valuable assets and find homes where their dreams can grow. Finishing in the top 1.5% of REALTORS® nationwide proves one thing: I’ve found my calling.
Best of all, I run my business my way—with values at the core: ethics, authenticity, and always prioritizing people over profit.
My journey with clients begins by listening. I take time to understand their goals, priorities, and needs. Communication is at the heart of everything I do—I’m proactive about sharing updates, insights, and opportunities so my clients are always informed.
One guiding principle shapes my work: treat people as I’d want to be treated. I act with integrity, even if it means advising against a deal when it’s not in my client’s best interest. Their well-being comes first. I take my fiduciary duty seriously, protecting them above all else.
As a full-time agent immersed in the market, I study trends and analyze data from multiple resources to give expert advice. I’m also a skilled negotiator, focused on win-win outcomes where everyone feels satisfied.
My goal is simple: to serve with honesty, integrity, and care, helping clients make decisions that benefit them both now and in the future. My company tagline says it all: “We are here to serve.” At Casey Durham Real Estate, it’s more than a motto—it’s how we operate every day.
Sincerely,

Casey Durham
